Pai - The Hotel

Here is the hotel in Pai, Pai Island Resort. Each "room" was a separate little, fenced-in cottage with its own private garden. We would definitely go back to this place.

And, I liked the jungle-style Christmas decorations (last picture)!

Chiang Rai Bus Station - Off To Pai

We are all enjoying corn at the bus station in Chiang Rai: Kae, Boo-boo (the stuffed Seal), and myself. By the way, the bus pictured was NOT ours. We had a lovely, air-conditioned coach. Only 150 baht (5 dollars) per person for a three hour trip. Madness!

The Golden Triangle

From the high vista, we stand in Thailand, overlooking Myanmar to the left and Laos to the right. Once a hub for Opium trade, now a hotspot for the Tourist trade. But quite lovely views and sculptures and statues.

Mae Sai - at the Myanmar Border

Little town of Mae Sai. Lots of cheap Chinese wares for sale. Some nice temples and lovely views of Myanmar...see below! We did not go across the border.

Doi Tung - Outside Chiang Rai

Up a winding mountain. A retreat of the King's deceased mother. Lots of lovely flowers and vistas!
