A couple of weekends back Kae, her sisters and my friend Jan and his family (wife and two daughters) all went on an overnight, weekend trip to the west of Thailand.
I had Thai family on one side and Danish family on the other, and it all worked out marvelously! Who cares about language barriers when you've got: Tigers, Prawns, Tiger Prawns, The Bridge Over The River Kwae, Caves, Tropical Death Railways and finally Fish at the Erawan Waterfall.
